Michael E. Stanford

 

 

  Mike Stanford has over 20 years experience in the construction field working with various firms in such capacities as Project Manager and Lead Carpenter. He has headed many full-course projects with duties including estimating costs, scheduling and managing resources.  

 

In the capacity of Project Manager, Mike was involved with finish outs, managed subcontractors, submited proposals and acted as a liason to the Purchasing Director. Mike has also worked as a Lead Carpenter  for many years, so he isn't afraid to get his hands dirty and has the skill to complete the job. With the ability to cover all facets of remodeling and construction, Mike and Renovation Works can handle your needs from the ground up.  

 

As a principle of Renovation Works in Austin (A Minority Business Enterprise with my partner) efforts were concentrated on CSI divisions 6 (carpentry)-8 (doors and windows) -9 (interior finishout). Responsibilties included performing all functions of running small business; including; bidding, estimating, scheduling, billing, and all misc. paperwork. Performed all related labor and operations in the field for all work performed. Some of the work that Mike has been a part of includes:

 

›  Ran jobs in the field. Retail finish-outs; 1005 Congress~3rd floor addition/ Lobby 
    renovation

›  Provided scheduling for my jobs, and various other jobs with MS Project ‘98

›  Organized subcontractors to be used on projects

  ›  Aided in Proposals for various Customers from office Assembled O&M manuals for AT&T projects

›  Material take-off

›  Drew up AlA Contractor/Owner agreements

›  Closed deals and drew up contractual agreements tailored for subcontractors

›  Liaison to Purchasing Director of owner/ production data /Scheduling.

›  Qualified estimate feasibility and profit margin

›  Performed on small interior commercial finish-out.

›  Performed all phases of work on residential remodel.

›  Renovation of old commercial buildings at Sunset Station , San Antonio Tx.

›  Residential Frame and Cornice, and Interior trim-Subcontracted through many homebuilders in Austin and surrounding areas. Performed labor, ran up to three crews at a time; provided all tools and supervision.

›  Involved with various companies doing commercial interior finish- out; Built and ran a music rehearsal studio in San Antonio.

 

I have attended various seminars and workshops dealing with estimating, bidding, contract legalities, insurance requirements and bonding through AISD, Hispanic Contractors Association and Austin Bonding and Technical (ABIA).
